That one RPG on the WotC Forums that ticked off Kkat

Post by Lago_AM3P »

There was this one RPG that ticked off Kkat so much that it started like a revolution. I'm serious, man.

Was the name of that RPG SenZar or FATAL? I don't remember.

Given what I know about Kkat(Tends to heavily favor flavor over rules, despises anything they determines to be min/maxing(which is anything that improves your char)), my money would be on Senzar.

FATAL is worth starting a bloody revolution over. I don't think WotC would have allowed any sort of discussion about FATAL.

It was FATAL judging from later threads at Nifty. I'll ask though.

"***Kkat remembers posting about Fatal, but I don't think I got into any trouble or arguments over it.
(170:25) Kkat: I got scolded at Nifty for posting a link to a review of Fatal that had bad language. Is that what he ment?" Kkat after I asked her.

Personally, I've had Kkat on ignore for years, so I wouldn't know what the hell that [EDITED] was going off about or bother to hazard a guess as to why. Nevertheless, I can say that it is impossible to talk about Fatal in any meaningful way without using a lot of swear words.

Holy shit, just the fact that that game exists gives children cavities and encourages alcoholism. The game has rules for raping women in it. These are different from the rules for subduing people physically, or restraining them, and the game expects these rules to be used. A lot.

I've never read SenZar, but all the complaints I've heard about it make it sound like a pretty fun game. Seriously, the only complaints I've ever seen leveled against it are that it is too "munchkin" and that the creators are self-absorbed fvckwits. How either of those makes for a bad game is beyond me.

Fatal had some really bad moments. Hilarious if you're reading them from the safety of your own home. Scary if you find out the DM wants to play it. (My advice: Back away slowly.)

Let's go into more details:

You rolled for circumference of your penis, your anus, and your fist. (If female, also your vagina.)

Now, keep in mind there are actual rules for if you go beyond your maximum anal and vaginal circumference.

If you made a critical fumble when casting a spell, one entry on the mega-chart is that the next time you take a crap, the turd animates and attacks you.

For more scatological goodness, if you succeed on a critical hit, roll on the mega-chart, and get rectum, you roll a D6 to see how many turds fall out.

Urinating is a skill. If you get good enough at urinating, you can literally urinate as much as you want, whenever you want, regardless of what you had to drink that day (If anything, although you get bonuses based on how much you drank.)

There was a magic item that made you rape anything you saw, and it was assumed in the rules that most men gathered in giant gang-raping groups for fun.

Plus, the rules for the actual game were terrible, and I can't explain them, because I didn't understand them myself, therefore anything I say about the mechanics would probably be wrong.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.

I'm pretty sure it was Fatal... The game where your comeliness determines your bust size (if I recall correctly, the bigger your boobs are, the lower your strength gets, too).

My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.

There are offensive games - games like Powers and Perils, where Women get a bonus to Charisma and Intuition in exchange for a penalty to Strength and Intelligence. That's pretty offensive. Actually, that's really offensive.

But it doesn't hold a fvcking candle to the sexism and racism in Fatal. Like, not even close. More attractive women get bigger cup size and less strength, more attractive men get more strength. Women get penalties to intelligence here as well. Most importantly of all, the game has extensive charts and how-to manuals on raping women. Seriously, what the fvcking fvck?

Well, that answered my question.

Anyone still have the link to the thread I was talking about?

From the SenZar review:

Lexis. Despite the humor and attitude of the game, its creators have a surprisingly sophisticated vocabulary. To read passages about "Hoard! Hoard! Hoard!" and gods disguised as foaming llamas, and then see words like "pronominal" and "concourse" and "syncopation" used correctly...well, it's almost jarring. If I knew absolutely nothing about the usenet fuck-up and the bio extravagance and the poetry and the whole overblown purpose for this game's creation, it would be tempting to believe the creators are intelligent people who are satirically pretending to be adolescently hysterical. I'm probably too receptive to this kind of thing, but the combination of attitude and vocabulary in this book went a long way towards giving me that healthy "Oh, look...I'm in a Twilight Zone episode" feeling. (As opposed to the writing in The World of Synnibarr, which made me suspect that I had died and gone to a very subtle Hell.)

Have these people been snooping on the Nifty and Den?

You forgot that if you had a low comeliness rating as a woman, you had a much higher chance to become a homosexual on the big mega-chart. Also, a man with low strength was more likely to become homosexual.

I personally know quite a few homosexual men who could whip someone's ass for saying that. (I'm serious, have you seen gay men lately? They're fvcking ripped!)

I've never even seen Synibarr. But I refuse to pass up any oppurtunity to mock it.

I gamed with Anythony for a couple years. And during dead times during those games, Anthony would always come up with something new to rant about in the Synibarr rules. Anthony was normally kind of a mild-mannered type, but he lapsed into Frankian ("a sailor who's good at math") tirades on this particular subject. They were side-splittingly funny. And if even half of what he said about the system was true, then no about of mockery I can ever foist upon it is adequate to the task at hand.

James Herman Christ on a crutch! They actually compared FATAL to the infamous tubgirl (for all that is holy do not GIS that phrase. I'm not kidding, this is not a trick to get you to do it. Do not go there and don't blame me if you do, because I seriously mean do not go thee.)

He's not kidding. It triggered my gag reflex and gave me nightmares. Really. Not just disgusting like the goatze man with the baboon anus, but ....um..worse...superlatively bad..perhaps the grossest thing on the internet. Don't go there.

having never heard of FATAL I actually read a majority of that review. It frightens me that people defend that game. It doesn't surprise me that somebody wrote it, honestly it doesn't. It's that there is a big enough following to warrent a webpage and the title FATALite.

That's sad, really sad in a make me question my own humanity kind of sad. :screams:

Okay, folks, while you guys have a choice of what threads you want to read, I'm sort of required to read every post. I am familiar with the link in question, and every post that mentions it deepens the burn marks on my retinas, forcing me to see it in my mind's eye.

So...pretty please, with sugar on top, stop talking about the friggin' tubgirl link.

Very well, we will stop talking about, and/or alluding to: Tubgirl.

Very few of us probably liked tubgirl very much, and it would therefore be an ease of sorts to limit references to tubgirl to perhaps as little as zero tubgirl references as well as a likewise non-positive number of allusions to tubgirl. Nevertheless, when topics such as tubgirl arises, it seems most pressing that others weigh in on the subject of tubgirl, if only to distance themselves from tubgirl. Which may seem counterproductive, as there is no method in English to my knowledge of disavowing knowledge or complicity in a subject such as tubgirl without mentioning or referring - however obliquely - to that same subject, whether it be tubgirl or any other.

We, in our constant vigilance against tubgirl related discoures, are glad to help with the reduction in tubgirl references and discussions involving tubgirl on this board, or any board which presently contains tubgirl related discussion and/or pornography.
